Think the obvious in Jet Away is the one and then will be in th MC up to his ears. There's queries on him at the 2 miles but the way he fought on in the CC after over racing and being wide I think he'll get it on his ear. And the run tomorrow gets the miles into his legs so he's not as fresh on Tuesday. Taken the 21's last week and very happy as he'll near on start favourite B-)

Is still 21's for the cup, and not in the field yet.
The $5 offered for tomorrow was good value tho. If he wins and makes the cup field $15 should still be on offer at least. If Varema is $14 I can't see how Jet Away, even winning the MacKinnon could be shorter

Dear Demi - a great Cup trial. Drops to 51kg for the Cup.

2 runs in 10days will that be a worry?

  • RIORIO    14,902 posts
don't think so, they need the miles in their legs

    Very good run.
Looked the winner for a bit. Still coming at finish

Moet was good Dungy, tracked into the race nicely, I think the 59kg held him back. Didn't have that "sprint" he has when over here

What do you mean the 59kg held him back? The Mackinnon is not a handicap, its a weight-for-age race. Mr Moet is not good enough to compete against the best in the eastern states.

You'd think he would do well back in Perth against weak opposition and his 4th in today's Mackinnon certainly says that he's good enough to do well during the summer carnival.

Hugh said the horse resented having runners around him and just didn't want to go but when he finally had room he really attacked the line his last 100 the best said if he had his time again he would have let him lead and thinks he would have won but we will never know . Positive is he said he's definitely a WFA horse and said bring him to Sydney for the BMW will be right in it up to his ears. Heard Ollie talking to Adam also and said the horse tried his heart out and he thought he was the winner halfway down the straight but said he just peaked a bit on his run had probably had enough by then. Off to the Cas now to get even more drunk best of luck PTTers :-)

So do I. Brisbane carnival could be his go although they could get wet tracks and he might struggle on a wet track.

I reckon some of the Sydney features could be up MM ally

Otherwise bring him home for our features

He's only had 5 runs this prep, with most races (except one) spaced well apart, reckon he could easily come back and target the Railway and KT (forget the Cox and Cup) then spell for an autumn return interstate.

That's 7 runs for the campaign - he usually has 6-8 runs per campaign!
