Does the foal make a racket while you trying to deal with the mare? One of my mares was absolutely savage this year, sedation didn't work and she was getting dangerous so we sedated the foal(he was always squawking and fussing) and the mare was fine…

weight I would say, he's tried it before with vests.

Glad someone with enough money has decided to do something. The whole selling system is utterly corrupt, Cummimngs is not the lone ranger in "commissions" from breeders. Its all been in such a backhanded fashion finfing proof won't be easy.

Saxon also got a lot of ordinary mares too. His last winner of the season is out of a mare that couldn't run ouit of sight on a dark night and her first three foals were even slower, then Gracetown wins second up on a saturaday Took a mare to Heytes…

His current fee is $5500, and looks like getting 100 plus mares. Very few stallions have higher than 50% runners to winners, especially once they decent numbers running around. From the 2010/11 Sires Stats (Bloodhound), in the top 90 stallions only …

Yes he has bought Michael Patemans place. Tommy will be so good for the neighbours.

I went to both studs and had a very nice time. Both studs presented their stallions very professionally. The youngsters they showed looked in great shape. Even the weather cooperated, all in all a great day.

Beaded, most consistent.
-
That only applies if you want to try and sell the yearling at a profit. Breed to the best you can afford and if you get a stakeswinner well then you have upgraded your mare yourself!

Our Fuji Mak is retired here on my property living the life of riley!
-
True, only not commercial if you are trying to get them into the first sale.

You are right, the Stormy's Sons are doing well ATM, he has a winner or two most weeks. A lot of the early crops had their brains fried because they are late maturing and go over more of a trip than he did. SS does have a lot of staying blood on the…

Natural Blitz stood up at Cromarty Park last season. Kendel Star certainly is underrated, I have had a few that I didn't breed and they can be really touchy if treated wrong. I bred one and he is one of the nicest horses I have bred, very big just o…

Stallion tender scheme not out yet, but I have never used it because there is no free return or LFG on the service ,unless you happen to be very good friends with the stud manager. Which stallions are awaiting their first foals? Can't remember

Far out! Perth Racing needs a kick up the bum! I get emails from PR members @perthracing all the time telling me about this and that. The last one was for Roma Cup Day, email says download this for your free tickets, so did that get to the gate tod…

Helenus was a good miler/middle distance horse but he was difficult to deal with and has passed this on to too many of his progeny. The progeny of this horse that do well usually dont do anything till they are four, sometimes late three, which does'…

We know SYT is a top horse because he won races here that were properly run and with decent fields, but after watching that race you would have to take any Group racing form by a Coolmore stallion with a pinch of salt if you were going to breed to o…

Cardinal Virtue has a similar female pedigree to Starspangledbanner and Star Witness based on the mares performance as well as stakes winning progeny but The Rock is way weaker.

Arguably is the word, no contest i would have thought. Balmont 4 wins at two inc a G1 and G2 plus Two G1 places and g2 g3 places. Blackfriars 4 wins inc a G1 and G3 Danasinga 6 wins inc a G1 and three Listed plus two G1 and a G2 place. Flying Pegas…

I am lost for words, something rotten in the air. Unbelievable!

Where it reads business partnership split substitute divorce, got nothing to do with the industry.

My list depending on what suits your mare; Blackfriars Saxon umm umm From the newbies we have so far; Alfred Noble Planet Five From the holding pen( those with 2yr olds this year) Husson lightning Passenger. My selection criteria is getting harder a…

I was comparing stallions at a similar level, Blackfriars is way above that and sensibly priced but if you are breeding to sell how many BF's will MMtake into themain sale? War Chant does have the runs on the board but he stood this season in USA fo…

I hear what your'e saying, however Domesday and Staue of Liberty both started at modest prices and proved themselves, and both were no better performed on the track than some of ours like Fly Peg, Saxon, Vital Equine,Husson Lightning,Balmont etc. …

Apologies Darrah! I should have looked there first! I have moved Grassroots racing up my favorites list next to Ptt so I don't miss any more breaking news!
-
Depends on what he looks like. Mosayter was big coarse heavy
-
Has a pretty weak female line , the other one Cardinal Virtue has a better pedigree and is priced dearer at $7700, both a bit to dear IMo especially when you look at Saxon at $4400 and how well his progeny has done so far.

The photos of that horse jumping the two metre fence were awesome, what a showjumper he would make. And what a clever horse to avoid as many people as he did. I like jumps racing but I prefer to watch the Nz chasing races, big solid fences that the …

Onya Skywest, Guyno is a gutsy little horse, maybe he should have his own page?
