On weights, Almohad looks a certainty! Interesting to see how they ride Saratime with the half kilo less than Almohad, is it worth a nose?

I'd have thought $2.00 was reasonable, wouldn't be taking $1.85 Almohad - his last two runs he has won by a sht 1/2 hd and a nose - good wins, but I'd rather try and find the value in the field.

Saratime is great value, gets 0.5kgs less for a nose 2nd.

Has won at Flemington and Caulfield over 2000m - query the distance, but has a very real chance!

But think Almohad is the one to beat - Guyno with Willie aboard has a better chance.

Simply Adorable is a strong place chance, maybe even e/w with the massive straight!

Even with Galaxy Queen coming out and a small field - the race still has some good chances against Almohad!

i think simply is a definate place chance,,,any one see it gettin home on galaxy queen 2 starts back...im not discounting it..even tho almo is the one to beat and my first early pick

Why does Durrant not have any runners on the day?
In some interviews it seemed he was aiming some at the Bunbury and Pinny cups. But he doesnt have a runner at all.

If you look at the replay of Galaxy Queen running down Simply Adorable last week, she only just got there, and had almost nothing left as they ran through the line. Simply as usual proved to have plenty of running left in her.

I don't think that she is up to the class of Almohad or Guyno in this race. I think that Bob realises this and will continue to kep her in easier classes for the time being. I actually think a spell would do her good as well, she could come back quite strongly for a Spring campaign if managed correctly.

Faid Dinkum Tete, what gives you the right to say ' If managed correctly' I think the owner and trainer have sufficient experience to 'manage' the horse correctly.

Just consider for one moment, that these thoughts may not be mine ???

But as I have pointed out before, this is or has the makings of a classic 3yo filly, she is very dour and quite possible may win this Saturday just purely on ability and class, but if you read the Trainers comments, he is not considering a KK campaign for her. So why run now ?

Again she is not mine, so who cares really anyway ?

Galaxy Queen just got there over SA ??? are you serious Tete if they went another 100m GQ wins by 3L she got shuffled back to last in a slow run race and stormed home not even close

Whats the basis for it getting anywhere near classic distances? Genuinely curious. Mujahid's are normally 1400m horses, maybe mile tops.

Her dam was unraced, but the 2nd dam, Reno Belle, was a group 2 & 3 distance horse winning from 1200M to 2100M.

Bearing in mind that this filly has thrown quite strongly to her dam and that she gets a mile out of her ground compared to the everything else she has run against, and the sire Mujahid was tried and placed between 1600M & 2000M.

So at face value this filly looks and presents as at her best over a trip.

Tete for someone who 'doesn't care', you seem to have done plenty or work on your opinion there.

Im sure Dan and Adam know what they are doing.

Speaking about going to the well, how many is that for Simply Adorable? Usually the better trainers know if they can handle 2 runs or 15 runs. If they get it wrong, then so be it. Cant die wondering and they don't earn much in the paddock.

I'm sorry for the misunderstanding, I actually do care for the future of the horse as I looked at her in the sale last year and liked her. Advice given to me at the time guided me in another direction, so obviously I have a passing intertest in her future.

Simply Adorable has been up for a long time, but I don't have anything to do with her race program or preparation, I don't know how people could have come to that conclusion. I'm a friend of the family and was there the evening she was purchased and have followed her loyally all the way through her career. I look forward to seeing her offspring one day as she will be retained for our breeding endeavours.

As far as 'plenty of work' I have a preference for stayers and have had all my life in horses. First race like many that I ever had a bet in was a Melbourne Cup.

If anyone listened to the interview after she won, AD said the Pinjarra Cup was not an option, and that they would target the Sat staying races as she is eligible for Westbred Bonus. He did say however that the Bunbury Cup was a chance.

Now I have never owned a horse, but I have been around the game long enough to know the following;
1) Horses do not earn in the paddock,
2) Win what you can when you can.... many a promising horse never come back from a spell, especially 2 year olds.

Having just watched this weeks "The Box Seat" it would appear that Josh Rodder either agree's with my sentiment and thoughts on this filly or has come to the same conclusion as me as to her suitablility tomorrow. He says she is a 3yo in the making that will get over ground 1600 to 2000M was his prediction.

Now where have I read that before ?

pretty much as I thought, class almost got her there, but she is looking for ground and really needs time not racing.
