It's hard judge the merit of the form from the weekend's meeting. All the winners were in the the first two or three turning for home so Lucky Street was in the right place at the right time. Maybe on another day pushing forward would have been his undoing? Or maybe he really is just that good? Those colours look familiar-there was a pretty good horse that raced in them if i'm not mistaken? :-\"

The colours on pushin shapes were worn by a handy little horse to success breeds success winning becomes habit for some owners /breeders

Try backing Showy Chloe on Tab Fixed. Maximum bet $1 and when you do they knock you back.
Jeez you'd think they'd throw me a bone after backing Almachino with them on Saturday.

Do you own that thread Falcon ? It's getting a little long winded a one horse thread an takes forever to load on I ph good to get varying views without so much emotion involved all a bit tedious really

What do you actually like in the race Falcon ?

Heard today a big offer had come from Hong Kong for Lucky Street can anyone confirm that ?
  • DamienWyerDamienWyer    7,956 posts
Lucky Street is still an entire. Perhaps connections are keeping their options open, but he doesn't have a Stallions pedigree and the Karrakatta Plate is not a Stallion making race anyway. I don't know if Hong Kong would be speculating on a Stallion prospect to sell down the track. Doesn't make sense.

Should he win the KK, and barring bad luck he will, I think his future lies in Melbourne as a 3YO. If he won there at the highest level, then perhaps he is worth a throw at the stumps as a Stallion.

Still have the faith Falc and Essy will be carrying the bulk of mine in the KK although come raceday I might just throw Lucky Street into that leg of the quaddie with her. :D
As far as Showy Chloe goes I just thought at 51's she seemed to be way overs compared to a lot of them and worth a couple of shekels. Still can't get on though.

Finally got on SC at 51 E/W and if the Eastern Staters don't show, she should get a start.

I think the prices you can get for some of them on the ALL IN betting is the big giveaway

Do you reckon she's a non starter Rio.
  • RIORIO    14,902 posts

I think there are a lot of horses on that list that have no chance of starting and are known to be so...but no-one scratches them and then the process of all in betting is a rort. And there could be as many as about 5 in the top 16

Got no idea on that one runyon, but I was actually commenting on the East Coast Based runners. To have some of them at over 20/1 is not a reflection of their true chance of winning the race, but more at enticing odds to attract a few mug punters to take a bet when they are very unlikely to run again this campaign, let alone over here in WA.

Reemah - not raced since 2nd in the Blue Diamond Stakes 28/02

Haybah - not raced since win at Morphetville 28/02

Puteri Jewel - not raced since 3rd Ascot 21/02

There is 3 I have my suspicions of still being genuine chances of racing, and at least another 2 interstate ones as well in the top 14...

If the plan is to not run them, then scratch them so that punters don't get ripped off...IMO

Like you said she may scrape in and that is the betting your taking.. For ones like her I'd actually wait to see if she was nominated this weekend...that would indicate that she is out of the KK and doing as per one or two others that I have heard about - just trying to get a return for the owners in an easier race.

    :D

Nominate, then 2nd declarations, then a third, then final acceptances.

This bullshit would stop in it's tracks.

Same as who is coming over for the Railway and Winterbottom every year. It's those in authority treating the public with contempt, then they have the gall to talk about integrity like they own it.

    It's farcical.
  • RIORIO    14,902 posts

whilst RWWA and TAB are linked, it is not in either of their interests to change anything. In fact if they changed it, the change would go through unnoticed and all that would happen is that they'd lose AL IN betting revenue.
