How long will this inquiry be adjourned for?

I wonder how many races will be won by this stable between 5th of March and the time this serious allegation is heard?
Current tally stands at 7 races including 3 listed races.

RACE 8: www.tabtouch.com.au HANDICAP - 1000M

Following a report by the on course Veterinarian that an inspection of GOTTABEYOU found the
mare to have a swelling to its near side jugular with traces of blood, Stewards questioned Stable
Foreman Mr Owen Gilbride and Veterinarian Dr Tan and acting under the provisions of AR.8(m)
prohibited GOTTABEYOU from starting in this race and the mare was subsequently withdrawn at
4:50pm prior to the commencement of betting. An Inquiry into this matter was adjourned to a
time and date to be advised to allow Trainer Mr Grant Williams to attend and for Stewards to
receive the results of routine specimen samples. A search was conducted by Stewards of the
vehicle used to transport GOTTABEYOU to the racecourse as well as the gear bag and nothing
untoward was found.

It really isn't a good look is it.. I went searching for an update last night as I noticed how many he had been having on the track - hadn't broken it down to winners - recently and straight away thought he was getting as many to run as he could....

I would have thought they'd throw every resource they have into the investigation to get it dealt with in the shortest time possible.. Maybe they have...but it just doesn't look good when left this long and then all these good value races are had.

How long does it take to get the sample tests back?  Presumably it could be turned around in a week or so?

When was the meeting in question?

They would be trying hard don't worry about that, but they will not find anything. Just going to come down to what they feel is appropriate for swelling to the neck region on raceday.

certain tests can only be done in 1 or 2 labs in aus and even then i think they sometimes send them to HK to be checked as they have the state of the art machines
have heard it can take 2-3 months to get results back

It all just paints the picture that the big boys can do whatever they like, with no real punishment, but had he been a hobby trainer he would have already been hung out to dry, the sad thing is, the little guy who mucks around with one or two horses in work, find it hard enough without the big boys trying to gain an unfair advantage (cheating)

Who was it that said "if you're not cheating, you're not trying hard enough?"

Does anyone know how this is going, or for that matter how long do they generally take to check a swab.

it certainly does not look good for perth racing, does it? if fact it pongs to high heaven.

if it were the eastern states the journos would be over it like maggots on a mutton chop...but then, we have NO racing journos.

how in the hell do they fill in their days? got me stuffed, all they do is cut and paste e.states snippets which are of little interest to us.

Racing Victoria have now set a limit for the use of Cobalt at 200mg per litre of urine anything higher will mean action taken against those involved, now that the cat is amongst the pidgeons I wonder what the fallout will be.
