Has definitely dropped a level after that prep but i dont recall her having a tough run in the CP or prep generally so has maybe just dropped back a level?, the one win since 2019 was probably lucky it was it the Valley as anywhere else Perfect Jewel wins.

I suspect she was trained differently as she was untested at the distance prior to that prep. Definitely lost her turn of foot by the time she got beat in the Turnbull. The start prior was beaten by Gatting(100-1) when she was an even money fav.

could bounce back but as i said real good horses win a race like that in weak company..if they arent at least internally very disappointed they havent set the bar high enough.

Bigger fish to fry I'd say. Ignore the price, it was always massive unders considering her best is 1400-1600m. Whether she's still got 'it' or is past her best is yet to be determined.

Your more forgiving than me, getting beat today against a crab ill pot her all prep..i believe she will get smoked against the real good ones..although i believe the all star mile is at the Valley correct?  :-&

She's not one of mine and I think she's arguably a one prep wonder but the target is the ASM, not a first up race at Launceston.

Think i have backed and susbsequently sacked her once after an average 3rd or 4th, agree it's not the target at all but still not a great return..Valley might help as she has won there and it may not suit some others but i will not be on her ever.

easy winner for Lindsey Smith with Elderflower just now, in case someone who is punting there tonight didnt see the post race interview he has the in his words " saturday class" galloper Puckapunyal(who raced well here)going around in the last, was i thought a pretty fair push for it and is 2.90 currently.

Streets Of Avalon what a beauty he is!! and equally as happy to see a TOP bloke who was real crook not long ago Shane Nichols, stoked for horse and trainer.
Honorable mention to the jock Zac Spain rode it to perfection(loved the subtle fist pump at the line too)

so much for the confidence....horse went like a busted admittedly at imo the worst metro track in Vic by panels.

Some win Artorius, wow Anthony and Sam Freedman have another smart one, provides some consolation for Aintnodeeldun going amiss for this autumn :(

As good as Jamie Kah is, why didn’t she take the sit behind the leader on Bartholomeu for a lap of the track instead of sitting at its hind quarters facing the breeze ??? Gee whiz :-&
  • ThunderstruckThunderstruck    7,696 posts
And then gets rolled in the next on QM..probably the horse having cat tendencies was at fault rather than a pilot issue..however costly for punters...
  • detonatordetonator    4,397 posts
    Yep. No excuse for QM

then bounces back ..i just couldn't back her though no trust...

I like the well named BanderSNATCH at Randwick next.

apparently Lane coudln't hold Fundraiser ffs, hence the breakneck speed.

do you think there were many punters shouting "go the snatch" just then? I was  :D

Makes the odd blue as one would expect from an Apprentice learning the caper but Will Price looks so good on a horse, stays balanced and calm under pressure is a real star of the future if he keeps his head down.
I think he looks like a 10 or 15 year senior(and a quality one)steering them more often than not imo.
I would assume the Gauch has had a fair bit to do with him in Victoria so hats off to him too.

The big fella AJU is back at Clifford Park on Saturday evening. Took a bit longer than expected to recover from his gut busting run on Boxing day. Young hoop crossed from the outside and flogged him for 1400m, did well to only get beaten 3.5 lengths. The Maiden 1400 was run a second quicker than the Class 4 a few races earlier.
1050m should be ok, but geez, we can't buy a gate (12) with this bloke.

Jamie Kah looks to be off the boil atm..i hate the valley and f knows why i bet there but R3 just now on Emperor Salassie a well backed $11 pop she went from being in the plum and possibly winning position 1 by 1 to boxed in nowhere to go when letting 2 or 3 go around her WTF!! race was over by the time she got stuck into her mount with a wall in front of her, the winner came straight off her back too..cannnot sugarcoat it, the ride was DOGSBAWLZ.
Now i have bagged her and rightly so she will probably win the next, i cant back her after that effort however.
