Hi all,
Falcon asked me to let everyone on the forum know that he's in hospital with a strap ly coccus infection. I hope I spelled it correctly. He was fine till last Wednesday, had dinner, went to bed, woke up at3.00 AM and couldn't move. Managed to contact a neighbour a few hours later and finished up in the ICU.

He's in a room now, and they are pumping him with antibiotics. He reckons that it will take few weeks before he's out, they need to make sure that it's completely gone, but he's feeling a lot better than he was.

I haven't had that affliction, but I have a mate who went in to have his hip replacement looked at because it was giving him a lot of pain, and, as unbelievable as it may seem, they discovered a severe staph infection had begun eating away at his titanium hip. That's how strong these infections are. It's been 7 months and he's got a brick, that's right, a brick, of antibiotics implanted inside his hip. The hip replacement has obviously been removed and they need the infection to go completely before they can put it back. He's hoping another couple of months will do it.

Falcon can't work out how he got his infection, but it just shows you how fragile we all are in that we are feeling great one minute, and in the next, we can be struck down without warning by one of these infections. Thankfully we have the antibiotics to help us, but they are still tough bastards to get control over.

I spoke to him today, and he sounds good, but he's still feeling the effects of the infection. He's been through a bit the last few years and needed this like the proverbial you know what.

Mate, I wish you a complete recovery so you can get back to what you do best, taking pot shots at everyone and everything at Perth Racing, governments of all persuasions, and the woke brigade out there. And, of course, posting the odd comment here which might upset a few, or even agree with.

Get better soon mate, PTT isn't the same without you.

Still hard to have.

STARRING HEIGHTS- Won 3 starts ago when Antique Miss got disqualified (Boy do I know about that when you have to give the prize money back 6 months later). Not sure if he likes getting his feet wet but goes into my exotics as a nuisance value!

TOP OF THE POPS- Another one to go in my lower exotics. Blinkers back on but could relish the heavy track coming from behind.

DEAMBER- Never seen a heavy track but keen to find out even from the horrid draw.

SIBERIAN SIREN- Got talent and will get a gun run from the draw.

LITTLE SILVER- Nope

MISS DRAKOVA- Nice win last start and could sneak up the rails for a nice 4th from the draw.

THOROGOOD- Another one that jumps over puddles but 1st up last prep drew the outside of the field then dragged back to last for a credible 9th with the 3rd fastest 600mtr split.

VASILIEV- Got no idea to be honest.

CATEGORY THREE- Might need some Demazin after the race.

RATION ALY- Nope.

DEAMBER/SIBERIAN SIREN

I've noticed over the majority of this season but mostly the past few months, that there is a real strong depth of progessive 3 year olds here.
Hopefully this is a good sign for the upcoming season too.
Good to see also that WA-bred feature amongst these.

I can't believe the terrible rides he gets in Tasmania. He is 0/128 at Launceston. When you look at the SPs of his mounts it's a total joke. What's the problem? I think he rides well. Does he need new management? Why did he leave Perth?
His last 40+ rides have SPd in double or triple figures. 29 have been between $41 and $301 @-)

Snazzler- Only fair last start. With Coops back on will settle at the rear of the field and run on from the barrier.Interesting tho that at 18 starts has never been beaten by more than 5 lengths. Consistent.

On Red Alert- Did the righty by me last start and ran 4th at 150/1 for my 1st 4.Old boy and owes me nothing and will have a nice cup of tea waiting when he arrives home tomorrow night so he can stay 3rd.

Macciateau- One of the babies of the field.Has some ability.

Covert Rose- Pike!!! Stuff me was on him in the last yesterday and had every chance. I am sure he hates me and will watch him go around.

Flash Paddy- My top pick as hoping VC can keep him in the one out line and not 4 back on the fence from the barrier.Start will determine his fate.

Wicked Cool- Missed the start by 4 last start and ran home well.Need to repeat and not out of it.

Zazar Rock- Will race up on the speed. Not a fan of the horse and might hang on for 3rd-4th.

Miro- Smell a fish here with CJP off Lucy on.Always remember his run in Feb this year where he settled 2 lengths last and wound up down the outside and won at Pinny. In my top 2.

Marinsky Ballet- Deserves to win this but barrier a big negative and will more than likely drift back to last on the rails.Backers will be having heart pulpitations watching her go round!

Lord Randolph- Sat behind leader last start and stopped with 150mtrs to go.Nope.

Who By Fire- My roughie for 3rd.Average last start but good 5th 3 starts back to Wonder Weapon.Never had 52.5kgs on his back!

Goku- 4th

Flash Paddy/Miro.
