Really looking to get out there tomorrow night amungst a crowd, thought I'd put my thoughts out there for the meeting.

R1: Dundee Three looks to be an obvious choice here or what I like to refer to as a "Mick Radely" tip, i.e. a horse that jumps out on paper and is very obvious at first glance so will start unders, if you check his bests they are nearly always this type of horse! Anyhow the horse will be unders, I don't remember an opportunity for it to show gate speed in the past but you'd think it would find the front because it doesn't look like there's much speed outside it. I just don't think it's racing overly well, it's best it wins with a leg in the air. I'll be backing Eliminator, it should sit 3 back the pegs and will hopefully get a split late with Heavens Delight likely in the breeze and Greyhawk 1,1, they'll make runs allowing it to get out. Tri: 2,8/1,2,8,9,12/S2

R2:1st heat looks pretty obvious, Washakie leads and Auckland Reactor breezes. Hopefully Washakie wins for WA connections, has more practice on the tight track. I'd love to see Sneaking Down Under zap them at the start but didn't really show any gate speed last time out.

R3: Seel N Print seems another Mick Radely pick but not sure how well he's racing and Cuzin Judd is flying and loves to lead so could put some pressure on to try and get that position. I'm banking on him not getting it and Never Waver Lombo getting a late split when Bakerandthefatman get's tired. Never Waver Lombo EW.

R4: I really think there's some overs here with Ohoka Du Nord. I know it's a massive class rise but I think he can find the top and run a 1.56ish mile and really make it hard for the class drawn out wide to get into it. Rocket Reign to coat tail and provide a big ods local quin. Ohoka Du Nord EW.

R5: 1,2,3 will all want to go forward.Chris Brew is not a hand up reinsman so I would predict Please Reease Me to hold up and run a bold race. He's also not a reinsman that tries to hold his horse back running a soft 3rd quarter and keeping the horse on his back pocketed so I will be on Nimrod. Racing well and I think will appreciate the pegs. Q 1,8 Nimrod EW

R6: Saucy Legend huge at first local start and 1 is a massive advantage compered to 7 for Smoken Up. You really need to zip out if you want to go forward from there, much rather be on the horse you know will be infront, think smoken up will really have to work to get to the breeze and without Lance on I think other drivers might just find it a bit hard to know exactly how to drive this bloke.

R7: Interesting who leads this. Chocolatto was good last week but is a bit inconsistant. 2 and 4 will both go forward too. Go West you terror was very disappointing last week compered to recent starts, may have raced a bit flat. Really liked Top Notch Dan 1st up. I was on him and noticed that Lewis passed up a few chances to take some short cuts keeping him back and to the outside which for mine indicates they like the horses ability. Think it could end up getiing a lovely trail on either Go West You Terror or Uppy Son if Terror goes early and i'd say at odds he's my best. Top Notch Dan EW

R8: Has The Answers Leads, Lombo Navigator breezes, Quinny 1,1. No one gets in his way and he wins well. Go Quinny!

R9: Ushaka Bromac is flying in the trotters. Is RODS but of what i've seen of him in the stands he hasn't gone to shabily of late. He just looks to well in, anywhere around $1.70 is good shopping.

R10: Nullabor Song needs to improve it's gate speed from last start but I think with the good draw it will and was a very nice run last time out. Nullabor Song EW

R11: This whole front line bar Turbo Gold could Gallop out. This could leave a chance for To Transcend to work his way to the top. Even if not he is racing well.

Good luck to anyone heading out there and anyone who's not doing anything get out there!

Let me know your thoughts boys, Harness page has been quiet for a while, time to fire up.

Stewards have got to have a look at it don't they?

At best Robinson has got to be done for not giving his drive (Nimrod) every chance to finish in the best possible position and a cynical view (mine!) would say he clearly pumped the pressure into the leader to set the race up for the stable mates who ended up running 1,2 while Nimrod finished 5m behind the second last horse.

You don't need to go as far as saying the Bonds requested it, just give him a big whack of time, i'm talking multiple months so that next time the stable has so many runners in one race punters won't be questioning the fairness of it and if one of the drivers will sacrifice his drive because they know there will be consequences.

I use to hate all the negativity by those in and around harness racing but lately I feel i'm tending more and more that way!

My girlfriend thought a nice christmas present for me would be a membership to the WATA. We won a fremantle membership for last season when having dinner in the Beau Revarge room and were at every fremantle meeting during the last season, comming in at i'd say a third of the age of the average attendee in the members. I mess around/help out in a pacing stable on sundays and if money/time permits i'd like to get a cheap old horse I think can still win a race and try and get my reinsman's lisence. I've owned a share in a couple of slow one's in the past so one would say i'm a semi active participant. I am 28yrs of age.

I was shocked to hear that "due to the recent merger we currently have to many members and you will have to be placed on a waiting list" i.e. they are turning members away! And they wonder why it's a dying sport when in effect I basically have to wait for some of the current members to die before I can get a look in!

Surely relatively young people with more than a passing interest in the sport should be grabbed hold of and never let go not basically shunned. I do get that they may have more members on there books than allocated membership space but I was there Nugget night, if there were more than 10 people sitting in that outside membership area at any one time I will jump from that stand to the track! And it would be a generous assesment to say there were more than 300 people not in the restaraunts. I.E There was vertually no one there on a showcase meeting.

Anyhow my girlfriends assesment was "why don't I just get you one for the turf club". Pretty sure they won't turn me away.

Golden Nugget night sees a very good one contending it with the barrier draw nearly making it a no race but it is racing so well just have to see what happens.

R1: Dundee Three will be very short and looks to good. I like Sports Adda as a banker behind him in the novelties as I see him getting around to the breeze first and then handing up, though Dundee may just work to the front. Take the 1,2,8 from the good draws as well as the 7 and 10 who are racing well.

R2: Think the race for the lead between Change Of Tact and Lavros Conquest is very important with the one who gets there the one that I want to be on. (Who will it be guys??) I think Change Of Tact might get there. Has been racing well without any luck and I think he can lead and win. Some Kind Of Tactics is stepping up a fair way in class, he has some tractability issues and I think he may have some troubles getting around making it hard for both himself and horses like Erris Lad and Dalvey Gold who would be looking to trail him.

R3: Not a bad claimer with Little Sonny Bill being hard to beat again. He should work around to the breeze and sit outside Sonny Armbro. I'm going for one a bit out of form Lukcon Lad. He loves the pegs and shoud settle with the soft run three back the fence. Being a claimer I think a few horses will get tired and Lukcon Lad will get the splits.

R4: McGintysgoat lead and won 4 starts back and I think he can do it again. Artesian Boy is a good horse with a trail, the stables horses that are getting the lovely run have been winning of late and I think he represents the danger. If McGinty's doesn't lead my quads are screwed!

R5: Bit of talent here. Was on Dasher VC first up and he showed he wasn't far from his best. Think that Rakarebel will cross though and can run a mighty race from the front. Mellsop could have something to say about that but I don't think Im Percy The Punter will step well enough to safely be bussled. Love Tartary Gladiatior but don't see how he can get into it.

R6: Don't know much about Brayden Green, can he drive alright? Think he is on a good chance with Sunsets West who is probably equally as good with a sit as leading. If Millwoods Meg charges you'd think he would hand up which would make Meg hard to beat, she's infinatley better infront IMO. Pole Dancer will get a nice suck, Falcon's Medley is flying and Off The Cuff Lombo is very good at the sprint trip.

R7:The Gold Ace leads and wins the Nugget. Was very impressed with Lovers Delight last week, think he can breeze and runa brave 2nd with the 8 and 9 drawn to fight out 3rd.

R8: Backed Reggie Royale last week and it was bolting on the line. It steps safely but not brilliantly but would like to think it could get the front and be hard to beat. Marquee Star has been disappointing for me, could probably lead but isn't racing well enough to warrant being driven that way. Star Of Dalvey racing well and could get a nice trail behind either Captain Dale or Melbournian.

That will do for me, last 2 races a bit skinny but no doubt being there will get involved! What are your thoughts guys?

ITMQ and Smoken Up just got exactly the draw both sets of connections would have wanted. This will be a scorching race. Justice won't hand up with SU and Junior won't look to do too much off the arm with ITMQ. Mr Feelgood will burst off the arm and get to SU's wheel, then hand up to Franco Jamar for a breather. FJ will be a complete pest down the back and by the time they pass the 400m mark they will be looking at record time. From here ITMQ, Mr Feelgood, and Terror to Love will start to make their moves as Justice asks SU for more. Raglan can rattle off a very fast sectional but will be hard pressed keeping up, same as Karloo Mick. Lisagain is outclassed.
The winner will have to run the last 400m in 25-26 seconds and the horse for that job is the mighty one.

1 SMOKEN UP NZ, Lance Justice

2 LISAGAIN USA, Anthony Butt

3 IM THEMIGHTYQUINN NZ, Gary Hall (Jnr)

4 GARNET RIVER, Mat Rue (C) Em 1

5 KARLOO MICK, Greg Bennett

6 MEGA ALEXANDER, Ashlee Siejka EM 2

7 MR FEELGOOD USA, Luke McCarthy

8 RAGLAN NZ, Darren Hancock

9 TERROR TO LOVE NZ, James Curtin

10 FRANCO JAMAR NZ, Luke McCarthy
