This story is not much more than wishful thinking.

New Approach was a high class 2YO over 1400M winning at Group level, that went on to win at the highest level as a 3YO, including an English Derby. In 11 starts he won 8 times five of those at Gr1 and was never placed lower than 3rd in his career. He met quality opposition at almost every occasion.

Alfred Nobel on the other hand, was a quality 2YO that trained off late in that same year, and as a 3YO in just as spectatular fashion. He won only 3 times from 11 starts including a maiden and then group 2 against only 5 other horses, and a group 1 against only 7 others.

For these two to be connected by a grand dam is only coincidence, nothing more.

I see a few perth buyers busy at Adelaide.

Parnham, Commercial Bloodstock, Simon Miller and Damien Wyer who purchased the half to Reset Gold by Magnus.

37k seemed a bit light given that reset gold looks above average at this stage so there must have been some issues or perhaps an average type.

From memory Reset Gold is no standout on type though.

The Saxon progeny are starting to kick along nicely at Kalgoorlie over the round.Galaxon winning his maiden by 4.5 lgths certainly looks to be the goods for the city tracks and Saxon Coast winning over 1300m.They seem to be proving fairly versatile over distance.

Interesting to see Danehill Express 3 year old Gold Rory sold at the 2011 Perth Magic Million sales for 42k win at his debut today at Mornington (City Meeting).

Purchased by Mark Riley it was well backed and beat a city class field convincingly by 3 lengths. In his interview Riley stated that the horse beat Group placed Stralia in a track gallop and would be set for the spring carnival and would possibly take on Snitzerland.

Terrible radio adds for WA stallions

I don't know if it's just me but the add that you hear on the radio advertising certain WA stallions sounds absolutely terrible.
The voice that changes tone and drops back like a echo is terrible.

Multiple WA Group winner, Famous Roman (Danetime), has been purchased by one of my clients this weekend. As soon as I can confirm standing arrangements and his service fee for 2012 I will let all know.

Last year he covered 35 mares, with the support of his new owner for the 2012 season, this figure should be increased substantially.

More news as I get it.

Mosayter has been sold to Argyle Stud in NSW.The win of Mossroy today was a nice celebration for the new owners.The original owners Swan River Stud,Kath Fleming and Jasmine Knuckey who bought Mosayter from the very astute Sheik Rashid Al Bin Maktoum[apologies for any misspelling]sold the stallion for an undisclosed sum and will each retain lifetime shares to him.
